Image-guided SRT is a nonsurgical treatment that uses low amounts of X-rays to kill cancer cells, allowing healthy tissue to grow back in its place. It is the only treatment with ultrasound imaging, so you and your provider can watch the tumor go away slowly. Image-guided SRT typically involves 3-5 short treatment sessions per week for 4-7 weeks. The Cedar Valley Center for Skin Cancer is the first provider to provide image-guided SRT and is the only clinic in northeast Iowa to do so.
